A SUBTERRANEAN FESTIVAL OF LIFE

Inspired by the traditional Día de los Muertos celebrated across Mexico, our festival will encompass different aspects of Day of The Dead - from rituals and prayer to dance and theatrics, plus yummy stuff from authentic Mexican foodies Wahaca - all brought together in our underground tunnels.

There will be live music, Mexican performers and art, and hands on experiences for revellers to enjoy. The festival’s labyrinth of tunnels will play host to a Mayan jungle and a re-creation of the Cemetery Panteon General in Oaxaca, with performances of poetry and songs where guests will be encouraged to pay their respects to the loved ones they’ve lost. Understand your soul by exploring your Mayan reincarnation, or if you're brave enough visit La Llorona for a fortune.

And once you're ready to celebrate those gone by with your best dancing shoes, music will be curated by Movimientos, with DJs playing late into the night.

Thursday live: Voodoo Love Orchestra Camo Clave

The creative director of Shotgun Carousel, Laura Drake Chambers and choreographer Rachel Ní Bhraonáin, bring an immersive experience to this year’s Festival of the Dead. The Resurrection Room, explores the emotional imprints left behind  in our lives by loved ones when they have gone. It asks it’s audience, how do you celebrate and mourn those you loved and lost, and how do their memories live on in small, daily resurrections.
